Evaluation

Evaluation

Add to favorites
Since childhood till adulthood every single person needs to be evaluated in any field. Evaluation plays such an important role in humans’ life. It is common that evaluation does not touch only the positive side of something but it also touches the negative side. Evaluation is really vital in planning people’s lives. It is an integral part of education since it affects the way students study , their motivation , performance and their aspirations. It can be defined also as an appraisal of something to determine its worth and fitness.
In fact , evaluation has different forms. There is first a formative evaluation which generally deals with a program during its development in order to make early improvements. Second , summative evaluation provides information on a program effectiveness and how it works. Third , process evaluation determines if a specific program strategies were implemented as planned or not i.e to check the strategies of any plan. Then , it comes the outcomes evaluation which focuses on the changes of attitude , behaviors and practices of  the students that result from the program activities. Finally , impact evaluation focuses on long term sustained changes. Actually , there are other types of evaluation that deal with other fields rather than the ones mentioned above which deal with education per se.
In a short comparison between evaluation and assessment , specialists get to find out that evaluation provides closure , it is judgmental and it shows shortfalls whereas assessment is ongoing , it is positive and it provides feedback. But they have some few common points. Both require criteria , both use measures , and both are evidence-driven.
The student is evaluated inside the classroom through many methods. By testing ,for instace, which is a qualitative attempt to confirm the presence or absence of something , or by measurement which is a quantitative attempt to identify the dimensions , quality , capacity , and degree of something.
Evaluation is an essentiel part of any teaching or learning process. It helps either the teacher or the learner to achieve better level and to get a good performance.

Dear Mohamed,
Thank you for your next contribution. You have demonstrated a good command of academic English.
The language
I was delighted to see that your accuracy has improved. Still, the punctuation issue remains on the agenda. And also, do not make a space between a preceding noun and a comma.
The content
You have written a good academic piece. However, what is YOUR contribution? Have you generated a new idea? Is there an opinion? Which is the point you are trying to make? It looks like a summary of a textbook, so I rate the content as average.
The multimedia
You have used quite a few photos, which is good. However, it would have been better if you had included some comments into your text, explained to the reader what you are trying to show.
Your today's score is:
Words: 354
Content: 354 х2 = 708
Language: 354 х 1= 354
Multimedia: 100
Total: 1162 points
