Crazy TV, New Language: Cause Or Effect? (A Solo Session from Kate Dorozhkina)

Have you ever found yourself watching a comedy, where you don't understand why people are laughing? Have ever watched something so weird, that it leaves you perplexed, and not amused? If you have, it must have been a new generation of TV comedies, which unfold so fast, that you are not able to follow, where actors' blazing colloquy end before started listening, leaving you no chance to use the stop button.

And the language they use, which incorporates slang, newly coined words, contractions and accent, is a cocktail not digestable for a non-native speaker. So, what are we going to do with that? How to keep pace with the rapidly changing language, and which stand to take against this avalanche of new words and ideas?

Kate Dorozhkina, who has been trying to keep on with the recent trends in TV shows, will present the new language features she has discovered and engage you in the discussion of how we can come with the change.

Please, sign up before Monday May 16 midnight.
