New Year Double Actor Drama

New Year Double Actor Drama

Add to favorites
We are going to end the long winter holiday season with a New Year drama. It will be more of a psychological game than a theatre performance, as every "actor" will have to balance between the right and wrong, the lie and truth, the greed and love. No difficult language is required – your success will depend more on communication skills.

 The preamble
Not very united family get together to divide their legacy on the last day of the year, because it is the deadline to make legal arrangements. According to the will of the deceased father, if the children do not come to agreement, the property and all the belongings will be sold and the money will be donated to a charity. So, unable to resolve the problem by e-mails and telephone talks, they eventually get together at their parents' house to decide which part of the legacy will be inherited by everyone. The situation is rather tense: on the one hand they are grieving over their father; on the other hand, every of the siblings initially care more for his or her own interests and want to get their share; and all of them want to close the deal as soon as possible to get back to their lives. However, being together in the house of their parent they start remembering their childhood are becoming more and more sentimental. They also remember their past affections and offences, which influence their negotiations.

The thrill of the game is increased because it is a double actor drama, which means that each character will be performed by two actors, who will replace one another "on stage" at any moment. There also will be time pressure - New Year is coming, and everyone want to get over and done with before the clock strike twelve.

The procedure of the session:
Step 1. Understanding the character - 30 minutes
The  pairs of "actors" will be given a card with a description of their character, and they will have to agree on the strategy they choose in the negotiations.
Step 2. Playing the drama - 1 hour
Step 3. Sharing our experiences - 30 minnutes.

Please, sign up as soon as possible, and I need to know the number and the gender of the participants. Registration deadline is Monday Jan 11 midnight. No late birds are possible to this session.
