Valentina has never been my tutor or my teacher. To tell the truth, it was my 1st time yesterday evening I dug my heels in at Val's speaking club.
Nevertheless, she has been one of my all-time heroes, since I first saw her years ago at the conference on teaching at Иняз. We were already colleagues and I remember my excitement at listening to her speech. It was all about making students’ classes more challenging and entertaining. Val made my day then.
These days I am an experienced English teacher and an entrepreneur, I am currently running my own educational projects, but I always thrive on new ideas to learn more and do more. And yes, yesterday I was heartily welcomed to her class.
Valentina is still truly inspiring, immensely enthusiastic and relentlessly cheerful – this is in her DNA, which comes from within and spreads rapidly throughout her club members. Be sure to sense the friendly atmosphere, be involved in PechaKucha presentation format, speak openly and make conversation with the people around the table, get and do homework.
I wish I’d had such an English teacher while studying at university. But this is my story. Why do You have to regret? You don’t have to be a teacher or study at linguistic university to take a chance and be a part of ICAN. Go for it now.
I can. And you can too! :)
Best wishes,
