August 9, 2016 is the date of the first Spellathon (spelling contest) for adult learners. It is an open, free of charge competition. You can join as a spectator or as a contestant.
The words chosen for the Contest contain difficulties, covered by the rules that have been learned over the preparation period. All rules can be found here.
And here is the List of Words, included into the challenges.
The competition will offer four challenges:
Challenge 1: Name it!
Participants will see an image on the slide, guess the word from the list and spell it out.
Challenge 2: Guess it!
Participants will read a statement in the slide, guess the word from the list and spell it out.
Challenge 3: Spell And Write!
In this challenge two participants will interact. One will be spelling a word, the other one will be writing it.
Challenge 4. Dictation – Translation.
Some sentences that contain the words from the list will be dictated in Russian, and the participants will write them in English.
Samples of all the challenges can be found here. Please, make sure you download the presentation before practicing. Otherwise you will see the answer immediately and won't be able to practice.
