Get ready for one of the most thrilling traditional session!
It's a great opportunity to get rid of things that are not suitable for you, but can be very useful to others.
Sadly, the gifts we get for Christmas are not always suitable: wrong size, wrong style or color, or we have too many of them. If you have something like that - bring that stuff to ICAN Club. It's your chance to turn disappointment into joy. No money investment - you will get something new in the exchange.
To enjoy the auction, make sure you read the rules and comply.
The idea is similar to the White Elephant / Yankee Swap, but we will modify the rules to create more opportunities to master the language:
The RULES:
1. Bring things that you have (do NOT buy anything for this occasion)
2. Bring good quality things that might be useful for someone in the Club
(check the sign up list on Monday and think who might be interested in getting your offer)
3. The gift should be wrapped so that to make it impossible to guess what is inside.
4. Prepare to present your gift in the best possible way (describe it, explain its usefulness) - people will make their "purchase" decisions based on your promotion speech.
Unwanted Gift Auction is a way to practice spearing skills, haggling and getting to know each other better. Haggling is a lot of fun, and the mystery adds to the excitement. We look forward to your taking part in the auction.
