The main idea of the speech is that an opposite may also be true. There are four points to prove this statement.
One of them describes difference in between addressing in the USA and Japan. The US people give names to streets and numbers houses in order they go. Japanese people give names to blocks, spaces in between streets. Houses have numbers in order in which they were built.
The second point is about the difference in medicine. We should pay the doctor in China if you a healthy, but we don’t have to pay if we are sick.
The third point is about the difference in downbeat in the music in other cultures. In most music we use ‘one’ as the downbeat. But in West Africa, the count of music is two, three, four, one.
And the last point shows what a world map can be opposite too. Speaker shows an upside down map.
Thus whatever brilliant ideas we have or hear, the opposite may also be true.
