The Churh of Saints Simon and Helena

The Church of Saints Simon and Helena or the Red Church is a monument of architecture built in Neo-Gothic style with modern elements. It was built between 1905 and 1910 on Independence square for a money of Edward Woynillowicz in memory of his early deceased children. The architects are Tomasz Pajzderski and Wladyslaw Marcony.
The church is asymmetrical with three towers. The interior has stained glass windows and copper chandeliers. Among the most honored shrines of the Church is a copy of the shroud of Turin, which was given as a gift by Turin Cathedral in 2000. In front of the church entrance there is a bronze sculpture of the Archangel Michael (1996, sculpture I. Holubeu). The Archangel Michael is considered as the saint patron of Belarus.
